In April, Salem Sound Coastwatch welcomed Carly McIver, our newest addition to our School to Sea program, to the long-standing education program. Carly grew up in Marblehead, but her adventures teaching in museums, zoos, and outdoor schools all across the country has led her back close to her home in the North Shore and Salem Sound watershed.
With a BA in Environmental Science and Policy from Smith College and an MS in Environmental Education from Southern Oregon University, she specializes in non-formal environmental education outside of the classroom and enjoys teaching the public about why it is important to protect our marine ecosystems.
Carly is also joined by Mandy Lowder, our part-time Educator, to assist in our education programs, such as boat field trips and visits to schools.
