School to Sea
School to Sea
Inspiring the Next Generation
School to Sea brings hands-on marine and environmental science to students across the Salem Sound watershed, from the classroom to the coast and beyond.
Through interactive lessons, field experiences, and real-world science, students explore the ecosystems around them and discover how they can help protect them.
Learn. Explore. Connect.
School to Sea gives students the chance to experience science, not just read about it.
Students investigate tidepools, explore salt marshes, collect environmental data, meet live marine animals, and discover how the health of our communities is connected to the health of Salem Sound.
Our programs are designed for preschool through high school and can take place in your classroom, outdoors, or on the water.

Learning That Makes a Difference
“I had honestly never thought about the river. I saw it plenty of times, but it just wasn’t a curiosity of mine. Now, I realize what I am doing to impact it and how it impacts my life.” — School to Sea student
That connection to place is where stewardship begins.
