Run for the Beach 5K Race Returns June 11

Salem, MA — The annual Run for the Beach 5K Race returns to Dane Street Beach in Beverly, MA on Sunday, June 11 with a 9:00 am start time. If you love running by the beach, this 5K race is for you. The route starts at Dane Street Beach and takes you to a beautiful lookout over Salem Sound at the Hospital Point Lighthouse. Join hundreds of runners and spectators in enjoying the coast and helping to keep it clean and healthy for all. Walkers and families are also encouraged to take part in this fun event.  

This is a chip-timed event and prizes will be awarded for numerous categories. Children can enjoy a touch tank of marine animals and visit inside Salt the Whale, a life-sized inflated model of a Humpback Whale. This fundraising event supports the Salem Sound Coastwatch mission to protect and improve the environmental quality of Salem Sound and its watershed. Salem Sound Coastwatch serves six towns in the watershed: Marblehead, Salem, Beverly, Peabody, Danvers, and Manchester.
