Salem, MA – Three new staff additions at Salem Sound Coastwatch are extending Community Outreach at the 30+ year old environmental nonprofit. Anna Sheridan is the new Program and Greenscapes Coordinator focusing on stormwater and water conservation. Greenscapes delivers outreach and education across the North Shore on environmentally friendly landscaping, an important practice for the watershed. Anna is also leading the outreach for Salem’s Greening Gateway City Program, a state program that will plant 2000 trees on private property in environmental justice neighborhoods and 400 city trees.

In addition, Chris Marchese and Susan Marsh have joined Salem Sound Coastwatch as the Coordinator and the Manager of Community Outreach. Both Chris and Susan work closely with volunteers to deliver many vital activities. Among these activities are beach cleanups, water quality monitoring, marsh restoration, invasive species monitoring and control, and pollinator garden planting and maintenance.

Salem Sound Coastwatch has a long history of engaging community volunteers to fulfill the mission of protecting and improving the environmental quality of Salem Sound and its watershed. Salem Sound Coastwatch serves six towns in the watershed: Marblehead, Salem, Beverly, Peabody, Danvers and Manchester.
