Dear Valued Partners and Supporters,
On behalf of the Salem Sound Coastwatch Board of Directors, I am writing to inform you that Barbara Warren has departed as Executive Director of Salem Sound Coastwatch, effective November 14, 2025. We would like to thank her for her many years of service to our organization. As Executive Director for 20 years, she led the organization with vision, partnership, and an unwavering commitment to the health of our land and water. Under Barbara’s leadership, Salem Sound Coastwatch has strengthened our collaborations with local municipalities, advanced work in climate resiliency, and developed innovative education programs.
The Salem Sound Coastwatch Board is confident that, together with our dedicated staff, all our programs will continue without interruption through this transition. The Board is working to secure an interim Executive Director and once complete, will conduct a comprehensive search for our next permanent leader. Our organization is financially stable, our programs are strong, and our staff remain focused on our mission. The Board and staff are committed to a smooth transition and open communication, and we will provide updates as the search progresses.
Thank you for your continued commitment and collaboration for the future of Salem Sound Coastwatch. Together we will all keep “Leading the Way to a Healthier Sea and Shore.”
