Speaker: Barbara Warren, Salem Sound Coastwatch
Presentation Title: Saving our Shoreline
Talk Description: Since 2018, Barbara Warren, Salem Sound Coastwatch’s Executive Director, has been providing a yearly update on local climate adaptation efforts and the state of the climate. Keeping track of the many on-going projects is not a simple task, but Barbara and the Salem Sound Coastwatch staff are working with Salem Sound municipalities and residents to build climate awareness and coastal resilience. This presentation is an opportunity to see the breadth of projects taking place in the Salem Sound communities from climate resilient seawalls, floodable parks, living shorelines, and coastal bank stabilization. Come learn about projects that are designed to make our shorelines more resistant to increasing storms, precipitation, and sea level rise.
