Salem Sound Birdwatch – January Survey

Join Salem Sound Coastwatch for our Winter Waterbird Survey to help monitor waterbird populations throughout Salem Sound. This survey is a team-based effort. Volunteers work in small groups led by an experienced team leader, making this a great opportunity for birders of all experience levels. New birders are encouraged to participate, and no prior survey experience is required!
The data collected during these surveys help track long-term population trends, monitor migration patterns, and assess the overall health of our waterways. These surveys have been conducted consistently since the late 1990s, making volunteer participation essential to maintaining this valuable long-term dataset.
