Pleasant View Beach is below Gillis Park off Porter Street in Beverly. Since there is resident-only parking on the streets, this might be better as either a drop-off spot for kayaks or a destination stop. The Porter Street extension provides a narrow roadway down to the beach area. There are no restrooms or other facilities.

The beach is located at the mouth of the Bass River and provides an easy paddle up the Bass or Danvers River or into the North River, given good weather conditions or the right tide.

Pleasant View Park Beach

Before turning into a mudflat the wide sandy beach provides plenty of space to launch or pull in.

This view from the Bass River at near high tide shows the beach and Gillis Park retaining wall. Another name for this area is Goat Hill.
