Obear Park is on the Danvers River, located just upstream of the Kernwood Bridge. It is a community park that can be reached from Kernwood Ave. to Upland Rd. to Livingstone Ave. There is a wheelchair accessible porta-potty on site during the summer months.

Obear Park View

From Obear Park there are views of the Kernwood Country Club in Salem (left), Danvers (straight ahead) and Beverly (right). If one paddles upstream, the Waters River and then the Crane River will be on the right. There is a nice little salt marsh embayment on the backside of the Kernwood Country Club for paddling at high tide.

Obear Park Beach

This photo shows the cobble/sandy beach that can be used by paddlers looking to put in at a shallow water location. This photo was taken roughly 4.5 hours after low tide.

Obear Park Recreation

Obear Park provides two children's playgrounds, tennis courts and open grassy space for recreational use or picnicking.
